An important role of the Lemko Watra in Zdynia is representing the interests of Lemkos dispersed throughout Poland and abroad. For this reason, Watra has become a platform for dialogue among three countries: Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia. The presence of politicians, representatives of state administration, and leaders of Lemko and Ukrainian non-governmental organizations at the Lemko Watra contributes to building good neighborly relations between nations.
So far, the unique character of the Lemko Culture Festival in Zdynia has been highlighted by the visits of many prominent figures, including: the Marshal of the Polish Senate Alicja Grześkowiak, Marshal of the Sejm Maciej Płażyński, Head of the Presidential Cabinet Elżbieta Jakubiak, MP Jacek Kuroń, President of the Supreme Audit Office Lech Kaczyński, Deputy Minister of Culture Stefan Starczewski, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine Olga Bencz, Director of the Department of Religious Denominations and National and Ethnic Minorities at the Ministry of Interior Zbigniew Filipkowski, Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Oleksandr Motsyk, Consul General of Ukraine in Krakow Mykhailo Brodovych, Voivode of Lesser Poland Stanisław Kracik, Deputy Marshal of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Witold Śmiałek, and director and senator Kazimierz Kutz.
The 25th Jubilee Lemko Watra in 2007 was honored by the presence of the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, along with his family.
Greek Catholic and Orthodox hierarchs spoke to the participants of the Watra, including: His Excellency Bishop Ivan, Metropolitan of Przemyśl-Warsaw (Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church), the late His Excellency Bishop Adam, Archbishop of Przemyśl-Nowy Sącz (Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church), His Excellency Bishop Yevhen, Metropolitan of Przemyśl-Warsaw (UGCC), His Excellency Bishop Volodymyr, Bishop of Wrocław-Gdańsk (UGCC), and His Excellency Bishop Paisij, Bishop of Gorlice-Przemyśl (PAOC).
The three-day Watra is also visited by representatives of the scientific and creative communities, intellectuals, including:
