43rd Łemkowska Watra in Zdynia, 18–20 July 2025
Watra is the biggest festival of Lemko culture in Poland, a magical event that every year gathers Lemkos from all corners of Poland, as well as from Slovakia, Ukraine, Serbia, the United States, Canada and many others.
In 2025, during Watra, we will celebrate a birthday – the 35th anniversary of the Lemko Union.
Therefore, we will also invite our neighbors: Poles, Pogórzans, and people from Orawa to the festival…
Just like at a birthday party, we will take care of a special atmosphere, mainly provided by the main stage. Lemko music will dominate there in pop, rock, and traditional styles.
The workshop (Majsternia) will once again remind us of the crafts practiced by people in the Carpathian countryside.
At Watroczka, children will learn Lemko dances, songs, and games.
In the Literary Tent and the Chyża (traditional hut), inspiring meetings with people from the fields of science, art, and politics will take place. We will learn about the place Lemkos occupy in Poland and Europe, which issues are most important to them, the direction they are heading, the current research on Lemkos, and how Lemko literature and art are developing.
